Vintage Design Stauer Stanford Dual Time Watch

STAUER STANFORD DUAL TIME VINTAGE WATCH
It's hard for modern travelers to imagine, but until 1873 the U.S. had 71 time zones. This led to mass confusion and no one was really ever on time. In Europe, even Paris and London were set to 1 hour and 9 minutes apart. Finally, a railroad engineer on the new transcontinental railroad, Stanford Fleming, proposed today's standard 24 time zones with Greenwich, England as the prime meridian. Accurate time for travel was born.
Today, it's even more important to know the time at home and on the road-so you call home after dinner, not after midnight! Crossing time zones forces you to demand more of your watch, so we engineered the dual time zone Stauer "Stanford" with a miniaturized Swiss movement that displays two time zones on one vintage face. This vintage design and antique ivory face replicates the style of the earliest wristwatches from the late 1800s and it is truly elegant.
